Geoffrey Michael Franklin

Passed away suddenly on 5th June 2021, aged 73 years.

Geoff was a respected and well liked fireman, who joined Warwickshire Fire and Rescue in 1965, as a retained fireman at Bedworth. He became a wholetime fireman in 1965 joining Nuneaton station, but still riding the retained appliance at Bedworth on his days/nights off. One of his last incidents attended with Bedworth was the train crash at Nuneaton. Rising through the ranks, he worked at Sutton Coldfield (then in Warwickshire) and Nuneaton, before moving into the Fire Safety Department. In the 1990’s he transferred to Leicestershire Fire and Rescue as a Station Officer.

He will be sadly missed by his son Mike and daughter Tracey and all of his family, friends and past work colleagues.

Funeral service to take place on Tuesday 29th June at 11:45 am in Heart of England Crematorium Chapel followed by burial in Oaston Road Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance in the Chapel is by family invitation only but mourners are welcome to follow the service outside, adhering to social distancing regulations.

All are welcome at the committal in Oaston Road Cemetery, again adhering to social distancing regulations.

Former proprietor of The Spinney Care Home, Brownshill Green Road, Coventry.
Much loved husband to Joan, passed away 7th May 2021, aged 80 years, after a brave battle with cancer.
Funeral service to take place in Cannon Hill Chapel on Tuesday 22nd June at 3:00 pm.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance in the chapel is by family invitation only, but if you wish to pay your respects to Nick you may attend Canley at the appropriate time.
Family flowers only please, but donations in his memory for Cancer Research UK can be made directly to the charity or via www.funeral-notices.co.uk if desired.
No black clothing please, but smart and respectful.
