In January 2005, Darren Lloyd, opened the doors on a new business venture. After working in the funeral industry for numerous years, he decided that a more personal and bespoke service was required and took the decision to set up his own funeral business. Suitable premises were found on Wallace Road in Coventry and after extensive refurbishment AJ Lloyd became the first new funeral directors in Coventry for over sixty years. After many years of hard work he then opened a second branch in May 2017 on Allesley Old Road in Coventry, namely, The Old Barn.
Muriel Grimmett, one of Coventry’s first female funeral directors, who worked within the funeral industry for over 35 years had so much belief in AJ Lloyd that she decided to become a part of looking after our families and came to work for us. In October 2017, after over 10 years working with us, at the age of 86, Muriel sadly passed away leaving her legacy in the funeral industry, she was the guardian to the thousands on their final journeys, and she will be forever missed.
AJ Lloyd offers a full range of both traditional and contemporary funerals with the principal objectives being, care, consideration and compassion in your time of need. We have a fleet of stunning reliable silver cars and also offer a matching silver horse drawn carriage if this is required.
